What is this new „degree” anyway?
What does it really mean and what potential impact does it have on your
life?
I’ve given it a lot of thought nowadays and I’ve come to the conclusion
that there is no “one-size-fits-all” explanation to it. It is up to you (and
YOU alone) to craft a definition to it. Why? Because this is your life
and you are the only one to decide when and how to take complete control of it.
For me MLE means “letting a thousand flowers bloom” in my life. It is an
action-and-imagination-and-success based mindset. It is becoming indispensable.
It is becoming unique.
Of course we are living in a world which carves for definitions. So I’m giving you here a short word-by-word explanation to Master of Life Excellence:
Master
Becoming the best in the world (you heard me once but here it is again: IN THE WORLD!) in something. There is a lot more to it but for a starting point read Nicholas Bate on this concept. (He will point you to Seth Godin too – don’t miss that one out either!)
Life
An astonishingly successful career. Rewarding personal
relationships. Mind, body and soul in harmony. An open mind to change. Seeking
risk (to hell with the other two, avoiding risk and taking risk). In search of
happiness in the present moment. Continuous learning.
Leaving a legacy.
An awesome adventure.
Your personal Odyssey.
Excellence
Another mentor of mine, Tom Peters (I consider him to
be my mentor anyway) asks you the question:
“If not excellence, what?”
